Abstract
The impact of vowel harmony on the loanwords in the dialects of Azerbaijani in Iran
The purpose of this paper is to study the impact of vowel harmony on
the loanwords in the dialects of Azerbaijani in Iran. İt is clear that this
phonological rule is one of the main characteristics of Azerbaijani. The
results of the study showed that vowel harmony affects loanwords and
changes them phonetically as far as possible. Consequently, in some
cases vowel harmony is completely realized and in some others we
observe an incomplete harmony.
