Özet
Tarih meraklısı Sultan Mehmet Reşat’ın mükemmel bir Osmanlı tarihi yazılması amacıyla kuruluşuna öncülük ettiği Tarih-i Osmanî Encümeni Tür-kiye’de modern tarihçilik için önemli bir aşamadır. Son Vakanüvis Abdur-rahman Şeref Efendi’nin başkanı olduğu Encümen, yayınladığı Tarih-i Osmanî Encümeni Mecmuası ile yeni bir tarih anlayışının öncüsü olmuştur. Bununla birlikte, Encümen’den beklenen “mükemmel Osmanlı tarihi” projesi yayınlanan ilk cildiyle birlikte ciddi eleştirilere de konu olmuştur. Hanedana dayalı tarih anlayışının örneklerinden olan Osmanlı Tarihi, ulusa dayalı tarih anlayışını savunan aydınlarca eleştirilmiştir. Başta Yusuf Akçura olmak üzere Fuat Köprülü, Ali Emiri gibi isimlerce tenkit edilen tarih projesi ancak bir cilt yayınlanabilmiştir. Bu makalede Fuat Köprülü’nün Osmanlı Tarihine yönelik eleştirileri ile Tarih-i Osmanî Encümeni ile ilişkisi değerlendirilmektedir.<

Abstract
Tarih-i Osmanî Encümeni (The Ottoman Historical Counsel), of which foundation was realized under the pioneering of the Sultan Mehmet Reşat, an addict of history, in order to produce a perfect Ottoman history, represents a significant stage in Turkey in terms of modern historiography. the counsel, of which president was Abdurrahman Şeref Efendi, the latest official chronicler, became initiator of a new understanding of history through the journal Tarih-i Osmanî Encümeni (The Ottoman Historical Counsel). However, the Project of “Perfect Ottoman History” to be done by the Counsel faced fierce criticisms after the publication of the first volume. The study, a sample of the heraldic historical approach, was criticized by the intellectuals defending approaches based on the nation. Thus, the project ended in publishing only one volume, after the reviews of authors like Yusuf Akçura, Fuat Köprülü and Ali Emiri. This essay contains an evaluation of critiques of Fuat Köprülü towards the new Ottoman History, and his relations with the Counsel.<
