Abstract
ONE OF THE OPPONENT POLITICIANS OF DEMOCRATIC PARTY: TRABZON MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT HUSEYIN SABRI DILEK (1954-1961)
Hüseyin Sabri Dilek, who was elected as Member of Parliament from Trabzon in 1954-1957 elections, stood out with his identity which can be labelled as opponent. During his period in the parliament, he shared his views on legislative proposals, oblivion for criminals, domestic affairs, foreign policy and problems of Trabzon with the speeches he made in General Assembly and Party Group. He did not hesitate to criticize his own party on a political ground which became harsher since 1958. Some of his claims in the speech he gave on 7th of June in 1958 during Party Group and which were cited as evidence at Yassıada Court and his general views are so harsh that one cannot distinguish them from the views of an opponent member. Sabri Dilek was arrested for violation of Constitutional Law during Coup D’état. He stated that CHP (Republican People’s Party) had had provocative role and that regents of Democratic Party, of which he was a member, had been responsible for the events that took place until the coup. Sabri Dilek expressed that regents of Democratic Party, especially Adnan Menderes, had had practices of a dictator. He was one of those defendants which were released with the decision of Supreme Court of Justice dated as 15.09.1961. <
