Abstract
The Impact of Political Situation on Economic Development in the Southern Caucasus
The Southern Caucasus, containing three ex-Soviet republics, is highly open to external influences, and its economy also takes shape in parallel to those influences. Azerbaijan and Georgia determine policies in the direction of regional stability, and prefer the way of development within peace. However, Azerbaijan, with very rich natural sources, was both partly occupied, and became unjustly subject to some international embargoes. Internal non-stability have beaten Georgia. Having no such problems, Armenia itself has became a problem for the regional stability, and, on the other hand, its isolationist policies resulted in a backward and closed economy and a hopeless society.<
