Abstract
THE ENLIGHTENMENT EPOCH IN THE NORTHERN AZERBAIJAN AND BOLSHEVIK-DASHNAK ACTIVITIES (1901–1918)
The nationalism was the main concept which determined the historical course of the Caucasian societies in the begining of XX century. In 1901–1906 the ethnic conflicts which broken out in all Caucasus called by a name as "the Armenian-Muslim War". There is every appearance that the ethnical suppresses denounced to the Turkish population in the all South Caucasus centrically in Baku and Ganja was the most important factor which had influence upon to the comprehension of Azerbaijani Turks’ nationalism. However, there was requirement for the group of intellectuals to take the society forward fort he shape of the national consciousness. In this direction the first political current in Azerbaijan was "The Social Democratic Association" which founded in 1901 in Baku. After this "the Muslim Social Democratic Hümmet" organization founded in 1904, shepherd of "The Muslim Democratic Musavat". The enlıghtenment Muslim groups who were straggly trying to struggle to Dashnak organized movement, succeed to create the unionize amongst themself, especially by establishing the organization which named Difai (Defense) towards to the threatening of the Russian-Armenian cooperation in the autumn of 1905 in Ganja. Thus, Ganja became the center of the North Azerbaijan national movement. Here, after this period Azeris was obliged to struggle to the Russian-Bolshevik and the Armenian-Dashnak forces. <
