Abstract
The Islamic Perspective and Future Vision in the Fight Against Islamophobia
This study aims to provide a comparative evaluation of Islamic religious education in Turkey and the Netherlands. Turkey, a majority Muslim country, has integrated Islamic religious courses into its curriculum under state control. On the other hand, the Netherlands, a country with a predominantly Christian but a significant Muslim population, looks at religious teaching with a pluralistic and libertarian approach. This research aims to examine Islamic religious education in the two countries from a historical, structural and pedagogical point of view using literature research and comparative analysis methods. The results of the study* show that a state-oriented religious education model has come to the fore in Türkiye, while a pluralistic and libertarian approach has been adopted in the Netherlands. In addition, it has been determined that religious education plays a central role in the formation of social identity in Türkiye, while religious education in the Netherlands is mainly shaped in the context of individual October freedoms and pluralism. The meaning of this study ikiis that it helps to understand the impact of religious education policy on social inclusion, identity formation and the protection of cultural heritage. As a result, the Religious Education models of both countries face similar challenges and opportunities, albeit in different socio-political contexts. This study uses documentary research and comparative analysis methods to compare Islamic religious education courses in Türkiye and the Netherlands. Data were collected through academic articles, official reports and educational policy documents.
