Abstract
In the Context of the Politicization of Minstrel Poetry in the Centenary of the Turkish Republic; Republic, Ataturk and Revolutions
Minstrel literature is an important transmitter for Turkish culture. In addition to transferring cultural values, the minstrels became the representatives of the people with their discourses. In this context, minstrel poetry is a good example to understand how social phenomena are perceived by the public or how they are transferred to the public. In the study, it will be tried to reveal how the images of the Republic and Atatürk are reflected in the poems according to the political attitudes of the minstrels in the centennial of the Republic of Turkey. In this context, examples of minstrel poems that present distinctive data on the subject have been included in the analysis.
As a result of the study, it was concluded that Turkish politics, which developed over a hundred years, created ideological differences in the perception of the Republic, Atatürk and revolutions by the public. It has been determined that ideological changes have given new meanings to the aforementioned phenomena for different political groups. It has been seen that the ideas of different groups of the society about the Republic and Atatürk are tried to be changed.
