Abstract
An Example of Domestication: The Structure -(s)Xn Geri
I first heard about the debate on structure in 2017. This discussion opened on the academia.edu website became an article in 2019 (Sarı, 2019). The question of whether the structure, some of which is also used in written language today, could have a connection with the uses in Old Turkish was the essence of the discussion and the writing. The difference in function that we encounter today, the change from word to word, and the absence of witnesses in historical periods are the problems in front of the connection of the structure that will be established between the past and the present. The need for convincing evidence to overcome these problems is obvious. If there is such a connection, especially the development from suffix to word is an important problem that should be put forward with convincing evidence. As far as I know, we have the claim that I also criticize the impossibility of it and that the word ban at Dede Korkut Oghuznames has changed from suffix to the word in Steingase's idea. My opinion on this controversial example has not changed today. In the face of all these, the similarity of the structure with the Old Turkish forms is obvious. In this article, it will be attempted to prove that the reason for this similarity is a localization event.
