Abstract
Contrıbutıon to the Etymology of some Scythıan-Saka Words
Cultural remnants and social peculiarities of the Scythians/Sakas, dominant people of the Eurasian steppes in the first millennium B.C., indicate that they were of Turkic origins. They left us also some linguistic material. Part of scholar-ship obstinately tried to solve them in Iranic base. However, their works resulted in great failure, and sometimes comical consequences. Author of this article examines current etymologies for some Scythian/Saka theonims, antroponims and ethnonims, and offers new approximations.<
