Abstract
The Waqf of Lala Mustafa Paşa in Artvin Dated 1563
Lala Mustafa Paşa, conqueror of Cyprus, bought some domains in the region of Artvin, and gifted them to the charity foundation (waqf) that he had founded. Both the means of founding the waqf, and the items put in the waqf regulations point to very interesting facts. Buying the domain was realised with the contest of its owners, and any obligation was out of question; and continuity of the waqf was warranted with fırm legal basis. The waqf directly targets to serve the society.<
