A Proposal on The Classification of Subjects
Classification of the “subject” is a controversial topic in the Turkish literature. Researchers have defined many different subject classes, which led to confusion. In this work, two classes of subjects are proposed, in order to simplify their classification. First class, called “deep subject”, is a presence that realizes the action in the sentence, is implied by the context, but never brought to the surface. The second class, called “surface subject” , is brought to the surface either lexicographically or by being coded to the verb.<
