Abstract

Turko-Russian Political Relations in the Era of the Russian Czar Pavel I and the Common Battle Against Napoleon
Throughout history, it has been observed that the political relations between Russia and The Ottoman Empire were always in the war climate and they were in a running battle. At the last three centuries of Ottoman Empire, Russia was of the primary country which fought battles the most. The main reason of this struggle between these two states was high hopes upon the land of Ottoman Empire and accordingly infringement on land rights. However, this combative and tense environment died down to some extent in the era of Russian Czar Pavel I. As a matter of fact, Russia and Ottoman Empire had even concluded the treaty of alliance against Napoleon for the first time in the history between these two states and struggled against French whether in Egypt or in Mediterranean region.<
