Abstract

Linguistic and cultural aspects of using the metaphorical potential of nature in Russian literature of the first half of the 19th century.
In this article, the metaphor of "nature", which is frequently used in Russian literary works written at the beginning of the 19th century, is analyzed in terms of language and culture. The purpose of this review is to identify the features and meanings of nature in literary works linguistically and culturally and, at the same time to show the metaphorical potential of nature. The subject of the article is the characteristics and meanings of "nature", which is a metaphor. As an example, the literary works of Russian writers who lived in the early 19th century are discussed. The ideas and views expressed in the works of today's leading linguists, such as N. D. Arutyunova, L. V. Balashova, A. N. Baranov, M. Black and J. Lakoff, devoted to the study of metaphor, are the methodological basis of the study. Thanks to the "linguistic, cultural and cognitive" cooperation, the use of the language-cultural approach and the discovery of the metaphorical potential of nature were provided. The main results of the research; Identification of the denotative component of the metaphorical potential of nature in Russian literature of the early 19th century can become a starting point for creating intercultural contacts, increasing the degree of understanding of intercultural metaphorical meanings both in direct communication and reducing the level of errors in translations.
