Abstract

Some Perisan Loanwords Dialects of Giresun and Its Region
Turkish language and Persian language have a relationship approximately for 2400 years. For this reason, a word exchange between the two languages has become inevitable. Although this exchange is reflected in the writing language and it is reflected in the folk language, as well. There are many words that pass from Persian language to Anatolian Turkish. Studies on foreign words in Anatolian Turkish started with Andreas TIETZE. In this study, TIETZE’s paper “Persian Loanwords in Anatolian Turkish” published in the journal Oriens in 1967 was included in the study. Seventeen words have been discussed in the dialects of Giresun and its region from Persian language. Some of these words are found only in Giresun dialects while others are also present in other dialects. The words that are emphasized in the study are: biçik, carmuk, cazu, cilim, cü cü, cücük, çangal, çencik, çor, haccak, keyfanı, kef, merülcen, şah, şenlik, tay, tıman. After the phonetic changes that occurred in the words which were shown, each word was evaluated separately in origin and phonetics at the beginning of the matter allocated to it. Some of these seventeen words are not in the Derleme Sözlüğü and there is no record of being in the dialect of Giresun, but some of them are in the Derleme Sözlüğü.
