Abstract
Ukraine: The New Geopolitical Reality
Internal political developments in Ukraine, which became actual matter in the last autumn and winter, were indeed a reflection of regional and global conflicts. The election process, in which a pro-Western and a pro-Russian candidate contested, and which was associated with the danger of citizens war, resulted in the victory of pro-Western Yushenko. These developments brought about curiosity for the roots of Ukraine, not popularly known.<
