Abstract
The Sample of Giresun in Linguistic and Cultural Degeneration
This study, which was done to illustrate the extent to which language degeneration has reached in Giresun, stands out as a clear sample of a general language deganeration or pollution nationwide. In the study, workshop names, menues and the statements or writings on clothes in the province of Giresun were all studied. The results obtained showed an unwanted increase in the number of foreign words on signboards, clothes and food and beverage names in menues, which threatens not only our language but also our culture. A number of urgent measures should be hastily taken in order to prevent our language and culture from experiencing a more degeneration.<
