Abstract
A Document on the Khazar Conversion to Judaism: The Cairo Genizah Letter
Conversion of the Khazars, a Turkic people, to Judaism provoked great interest in historiography, and resulted in many significant studies. Sources of this problem are very scanty. A Khazarian Hebrew letter, announced to scholarship in 1912, and known as the Schechter Letter after the name of its publisher, or the Cambridge Document after where it is kept, without names of its sender and receiver, provides important data for this issue. This essay contains a Turkish explanatory edition of the letter.<
