Soviet Activities to Annihilate National Identities: The Experience of
The question of nationalities remained one of the most important problems before Soviet authorities, and Lenin and Stalin administrations applied temporary and mostly suppressive methods in this question. Under the Khrushchev rule, the state put into practice the policy of sovietization of peoples by expecting to solve the question in îong run. The aim was to assimilate all people within the Soviet Union into Soviet, that is Russian identity, as the greatest ethnical group rep-resenting the Union, and to create a unique people.<
