Pediatric Diseases and the Traditional Treatment Methods in the Giresun Public Medicine
Mankind has struggled to get rid of diseases since its existence. Societies have gained a lot of knowledge and experience for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases as a result of this struggle that has continued until today. The knowledge and experiences obtained by the trial-and-error method have a dynamic structure that preserves its vitality in social memory. In the historical process, Turks have developed many unique treatment methods to combat diseases. Turkish folk medicine practices are important cultural materials that have reached the present day by being transferred from generation to generation in the oral culture environment. In this research, traditional treatment methods applied in pediatric diseases in folk medicine practices in Giresun province are included. The research was conducted using the semi-structured interview method, one of the qualitative research data collection techniques. Hot flush, stye, intestinal worms, baby gas, sore throat, whooping cough, nasal congestion, toothache, crushed meat, eye pain, eye inflammation, urinary incontinence, diarrhea, loss of appetite, constipation, stomachache, which are known as pediatric diseases by the local people. , fracture-dislocation, confusion of the forties (flatulence), measles, speech difficulties, fear, earache, rash, jaundice, colds, chickenpox, herpes, scabies, burns, wounds, high fever, difficulty walking, pneumonia, and poisoning diseases. It has been determined that traditional treatment methods are used in the treatment of the disease.
