Abstract
Edirne's Voice from Regional Liberation to the National Struggle: Trakya Pasaeli Newspaper
Trakya Pasaeli newspaper, the first issue of which was published on December 2, 1918, as the official publication of the Trakya Pasaeli Müdafaa-i Hukuk Cemiyeti, is one of the first periodicals of the period called Armistice and National Struggle Press. The period in which Trakya Pasaeli started his publication life and the military and political events that took place after it directly affected the publication policy of the newspaper, as well as the main topics and themes used in the newspaper. In addition to this, Trakya Paşaeli newspaper contains detailed information about the process from regional liberation ideas and efforts to the National Struggle, as well as providing striking data about the institutional history of a private provincial newspaper. On the other hand, the fact that the newspaper in question is the official organ of the Trakya Pasaeli Müdafaa-i Hukuk Cemiyeti also allows the newspaper to contain information about the history of the society that cannot be found in other sources. Thanks to these distinctive features, Trakya Paşaeli newspaper sheds light on the developments that took place between the end of 1918 and the beginning of 1920, both from a local and national perspective.
