Abstract
Heroic Children of Rize During the Independence War of Turkey
It is too exceptional that only professional armies deal with war. It usually includes civilians, and never excludes children. Zekeriyya of Rize, who was bom at the beginning of the 20th century, shared the same fate, participated in the resistance against the Russian invasion in 1916, in the Turkish contra-attack on Batum, Georgia, in 1918, and paramilitary activities around İstanbul against allied occupiers (Britain, France, etc).<
